In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious Richard Wagner Bayreuth Scholarship. In the following years, he took part in masterclasses with Bernd Weikl, Renate Holm, Gottfried Hornik, and Wicus Slabbert. In 2002, he was a semifinalist in the 21st International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition and was subsequently engaged by the Landestheater Linz, where he made his opera debut in October 2002 in the European premiere of Philip Glass ‘The Voyage’ under Maestro Dennis Russell Davies.

Since 2005, he has been a soloist at the Vienna State Opera, where he has established himself as a celebrated audience favorite in over 950 performances, 27 premieres, and more than 98 different roles. As an internationally sought-after guest soloist and concert singer, he has performed in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Baden-Baden, Dresden, Nice, Muscat, Bratislava, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Munich, Berlin, Prague, and Budapest, among other cities. Johnny Logan

Much is written about “exceptional singers.” In the colorful and increasingly fast-paced music industry, many want to be “exceptional” and Johnny Logan truly is! No one else has ever managed to win the Eurovision Song Contest three times (as singer of “What’s Another Year” in 1980, as singer, lyricist, and composer of “Hold Me Now” in 1987, and as lyricist and composer of “Why Me” in 1992). Anyone who has seen him live is fascinated and amazed by the tremendous vocal qualities of this “boy,” who is as modest today as he was back in the day. Johnny Logan was born Sean Patrick Michael Sherrard in Melbourne, Australia, in 1954. Three years later, the family moved to Ireland, and from then on Sean accompanied his father on tour. He learned to play the guitar and wrote his first songs at the age of 13. He was not very enthusiastic about his apprenticeship as an electrician and was therefore grateful when he was offered the lead role in an Irish musical. Shortly afterwards, he was discovered by composer and filmmaker Shay Healy and sang his composition “What’s Another Year” in 1980. So, Johnny Logan definitely is much more than a Eurovision icon.

Carla Natascha’s Tropical Band

The extremely popular show band has been a guest at the Lawyers’ Ball several times in previous years and we are delighted that the opening of the Metternich Hall this year will give us the opportunity to dance to Latin American rhythms again!

The spirited Austro-Latina, known for her unique performance, powerful voice and joie de vivre, enriches the European music scene with her own songs and music productions.

Carla Natascha’s heart has always belonged to the rhythms of her Latin American homeland. That is why she founded her own band as lead vocalist in 2007 with highly renowned musicians from all over the world. With her band formations, she is a welcome star at traditional events and balls, as well as at European festivals and charity events. Her repertoire is international and includes well-known Latin American hits as well as her own compositions in the genres of salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, cha-cha, rumba, bolero, Latin pop and much more.
